Understanding & Befriending Your Nervous System
Are you looking for tools to help you manage your mood, attention, or physical health? These are all functions of your autonomic nervous system (ANS) – the part of your body that manages your heart rate, breathing, blood pressure, digestion, and energy and alertness levels without you having to consciously think about them. Your ANS also influences your ability to focus, to relax or remain on high alert, and to connect easily and naturally with the people around you.
The good news is that even though our ANS operates without our conscious control, we can become aware of it and learn to influence it. Understanding and befriending your ANS can be powerful support for anyone healing with anxiety, depression, digestive issues, high blood, pressure, tension, headaches, or stress related ailments of any kind.
