Create Better Meetings

  • River Valley Co-op 228 Northampton Street Easthampton, MA, 01027 United States (map)

Are your meetings painful, tedious, or just boring? Is there a whole lot of talking but not enough listening? Do just a few people seem to do most of the talking?

Do you want to hear from everyone, but it seems like it just takes too long? Do you have to revisit the same issues over and over?

Do you feel like there has to be a better way?

In this workshop, we'll explore and experience a number of simple meeting tools that anyone can run. We'll break down how they work to meet group goals, and help you assess which ones might be most helpful to improve your group's meeting.

Participants will learn to match meeting objectives with processes that structure participation to:

  • focus people's input within the time and attention available,

  • help everyone participate effectively, balancing the many kinds of difference that tend to skew who we hear the most from,

  • reduce group anxiety and frustration,

  • enable the whole group to listen more deeply and really synthesize what's been shared to solve problems; and

  • better align meeting processes with the group's core values.

You'll leave prepared to confidently select tools to meet your goals and run them in your next meeting.

This is a FREE workshop at River Valley Co-op in Easthampton. Register at River Valley. Questions? Contact me.
